WHAT IS AMD MEMORY PROFILE TECHNOLOGY?

AMP Technology provides performance enhancements and/or energy savings for DDR3 memory beyond JEDEC specifications. It offers features such as memory profiles, enhanced latency and tuning utility known as AMD OverDrive™.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Preset memory optimizations are built into the SPD of supported memory modules. Users can bypass the standard JEDEC settings by loading the memory profiles through the BIOS. Novice users can download AMD OverDrive™ to quickly load the tested memory profiles and overclock with ease.

Features Benefits
Multiple SPD Profiles Select from a couple pre-programmed memory settings based on a usage model. For example, a low-latency profile could be used during intense gaming while a low-voltage (green) profile could be loaded for everyday use.
Mainstream Overclocking Enables novice users to easily overclock their platforms by selecting from pre-defined, stable profiles, stored in the SPD instead of adjusting individual parameters in the BIOS. Reselecting the default profile resets the module to JEDEC standards.1
Enthusiast Overclocking Allows enthusiasts to push their system's limits with individual parameter changes in the BIOS that can be saved as profiles and automatically loaded at system boot or through AMD OverDrive™ software.1
Green Computing Allows power-conscious users to under-volt their memory power savings, cooler operation and system stability. Green profile can be loaded automatically at system boot or through AMD OverDrive™.
Fail-safe default boot Start boot sequence with default JEDEC setting (standard DDR3 frequencies and timings) to ensure base functionality and stability. Then, the user can load (or loading can be set as an automatic function) AMD Memory Profiles from the SPD into the BIOS.

1. WARNING: AMD'S product warranty does not cover damage to processors, memory or motherboards caused by overclocking (even when overclocking is enabled via AMD hardware or software). Operating your AMD processor or memory outside of specification in excess of factory settings, including but not limited to overclocking, may damage your processor and/or lead to other problems, including but not limited to, damage to your system components (including your motherboard and components therein (e.g. memory), system instabilities (e.g. data loss and corrupted images), shortened processor, system component and/or system life and in extreme cases, total system failure. AMD does not provide support or service for issues or damages related to use of an AMD processor outside of processor specifications or in excess of factory settings. You may also void your system and component warranties and not receive support or service from your system manufacturer.
